International news: Closing the airspace for India has proved very costly for Pakistan. The report has revealed that Pakistan has suffered a loss of Rs 127 crore in two months due to closing the airspace for Indian aircraft. Pakistan had closed its airspace for Indian aircraft after India's decision to suspend the Indus Water Treaty on 23 April. Pakistan has suffered a huge loss due to the conflict between India and Pakistan.
This information has been given by the Defense Ministry of Pakistan itself. It was told in the Parliament of Pakistan that more than 100 flights have been affected daily due to the closure of the airspace. Due to this, Pakistan has suffered a loss of 4.10 billion Pakistani rupees (about 127 crore Indian rupees) between 24 April and 30 June.
Although Pakistan has suffered a huge loss due to the closure of the airspace, the income of the Pakistan Airports Authority has increased. Despite the loss, the total revenue of the Pakistan Airports Authority has increased from $508,000 in 2019 to $760,000 in 2025. In the year 2019, Pakistan used to earn Rs 4.24 crore every day from the planes passing over, which has increased to Rs 6.35 crore in the year 2025. This is the reason why Pakistan has not incurred a loss even after closing the airspace.
Pakistan has closed its airspace many times. This is not the first time that Pakistan has closed its airspace for India. Pakistan had closed its airspace in the year 2019 as well. During that time, Pakistan suffered a loss of $54 million. At that time, there was a lot of tension on the India-Pakistan border. This is the reason why Pakistan closed its airspace.
After the conflict between India and Pakistan, there has been a lot of bitterness in the relations. This is the reason why India has taught Pakistan a tough lesson through Operation Sindoor and the Indus Water Treaty. This is the reason why Pakistan is furious. Even months after the conflict ended, Pakistan has kept its airspace closed for Indian planes. It is known that it will remain closed till the last week of August.
